Where did you have the work done? How much did they charge for replacing the pressure control solenoid? They changed the design in 2003, so I'm thinking that we may end up seeing more of these.

I got the work done at Century Pontiac in Tampa. Parts and labor it was $589.00 plus tax. I talked to their transmission guy, he said I was lucky to catch it in time. He did find some shavings, but he said overall its in great shape. (Thank god) I can scan my reciept tomorrow and post it if anyones interested.

If you don't midn posting it, that would be great. If some of our members start to experience similar problems, it will help give them idea of what it will cost for the repairs. Thanks.

AWESOME...

Glad to hear it. It's always a good feeling when you get the car back with a whole new feeling. Makes you able to justify the spend.

Thanks for posting the information. Wow, that is a lot of labor for the solenoid. I know that it takes a bit to get to it.

With a couple of TSBs on that solenoid (one for symptoms, one for which to use), if we start to have more people with issues with it, this will give them an idea as to the cost.

Enjoy your newly repaired car!

Just had my transmission looked at and came up with the solenoid going bad. Bad thing is there is no repair shops around that will work on a transmission.

Please put your make and model in the sig area. The Gearheads here are the greatest but we need to help them out. Also you might want to start a new thread rather than tag on to this one.
