Oil Pressure Switch for Guage
 

Where would I order a new guage for the oil pressure guage. A switch is what I need is there a place that sells them so I can buy it so I can take it to my mechanic to install? Let me KNow.

Now that my check gauge light low oil pressure is on is there a way to turn it off so I can read the other driver information center info? It stays on constantly and I can't go into select or reset or anything it just stays on. Is there a way to disable this warning light. I know the problem but I can't bypass it or override it for that matter. Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone up at this hour? I need to know if this is the right part I need so I can take it to my mechanic tomorrow.

Battery Location on a 2001 Bonneville SSEi
 

I read somewhere that if you disconnect the negative battery cable for 2-20 minutes it will reset all the warning lights, is that true. Could that fix my oil proessure low issue? Can someone tell me where the battery is located. I read under the passenger seat but it doesnt make sense to be there. Any help would be appreciated.

Under the rear seat. Disconnecting the battery may only clear diagnostic codes. If it is a hardware fault, then the light is going to immediatley come back on.

I wonder if I should start with an oil change and filter to see if it clears it up? What do you think?

I doubt it. Unless it's been like 20 years since the last oil change. Or your filter is so clogged with crud that its causing low pressure.

Swap out sensors and see what happens.

To be on a safer side, you may be able to borrow a oil pressure gauge from Autozone. Pull the existing sensor out, install the mechanical gauge and fire it up. If you have pressure, good chance your sensor is bad.

I think it's 99% your sensor, they go bad all the time one these cars

if you are already going to the trouble of pulling the sensor to stick the mechanical oil pressure gauge in you might as well just replace the sensor, its no harder than removing the drain bolt from your oil pan, just hold on to it until you change your oil next which I suggest you start doing yourself
