Default Official Transmission Results!!!

I went into the tranny shop today to take a look at the official damage. They had the complete transmission in pieces across the table, what a site of broken metal. The damage:::
both planets and sun gear were in pieces, 2nd gear clutchs were gone, 4th gear clutchs were gone, 4th gear clutch shaft was stripped, and thats all.The mechanic said he can see the clutchs and shaft being totaled but he has not seen the planets go out before in this style tranny. To many horses and torque maybe? Any othere thoughts? On a side note since the tranny is all out and in peices I decided to purchase the INTENSE transaxle upgrade kit. Lets see the tranny break now!

Well ours is very close to the 13'* and it still has the stock tranny even with over 125k on it. *knock on wood* It went 14.68 before the DHP, WP Pulley, and gutted airbox on a 90 degree day with a 2.3 60' on pump gas with no track prep besides removing spare and lowering front tire pressure to about 24psi and turning "off" the TCS. The DHP killed the remaining couple degrees of KR, gave us adjustable timing, and really woke the car up. That along with a better 60' and its really close to 13'*, especially if you knock off the 100lbs we would save if I were driving it. If we put 100 octane or so in it, we could turn the timing up probably 6 or 8 degrees for another 15-20hp. But we don't race that car, so it doesn't really count/matter. We just made two runs to see what it would do.

The only thing I know that will destroy planets is VERY excessive wheel spin with A LOT of catching tar or dry spots......It'* the shock of spinning free and then stopping everything in like nano seconds......Had a friend that friend a couple planets in a ranger tranny and that'* what the guy said.....
