Default No wiper action

I arrived at work this morning and once parked I went to spray the windshield and the drivers side wiper didn't budge and the passenger side wiper is erratic. Both wipers will move freely by hand.

Any thoughts?

pop the cap off of the base of the wiper arm and make sure the nut is tight holding the arm onto the transmission assembly. ive seen these loosen up and sometimes the splines will strip out of either part. i bet your issue is somewehere in there, unless something broke, like one of the arms for the transmission

It sounds like you have linkages broken that are common to both driver & passenger wipers if they both move freely by hand. Were they jammed by ice build up prior to this? You can remove the air inlet grill panel & the windshield frame reinforcement to get a closer look at the wiper motor & transmission linkage. If you need to remove the wiper motor & transmission, remove the wiper arms first.
