I have a 2000 Bonneville SE with no dash night lights including the radio & heat buttons. All indicator lights work when the car starts. I have tried a different cluster which showed the same result. I also tried a different interior dimmer switch. This weekend I went under the dash and found the in-line 2amp fuses that are part of the head lights switch. Everything operated properly in auto and manual mode. Of course I've checked all fuses under the seat and hood. I'm stumped!

Any ideas?

The 2amp fuses you found were in the steering column area correct? If so those are for the steering wheel controls.

They were under the dash but led to the steering column. One fuse was active when the ignition was on. The other was active when the headlights were on manually or automatically. The lights on the steering column buttons and window/door lock buttons work.

Not real common with your year, but check the grounds. I believe those are under the dash along the outside wall.
