Mine goes through 1/4 to 1/2 quart per oil change (3000mile changes). I cannot smell any burnt oil or anything but there is some leaking from around the valve cover. I just make sure to keep up with regular oil changes and to make sure its topped off. My old ranger went through almost 1.5 to 2 quarts per 3000 change. I kept that topped off through the life of the vehicle and ran it up to 230,000 miles before the injectors gave way and exceeded the value of the vehicle.
