You may want to include some additional information either in your post or in your signature. SSEi problems can be different from SE, etc...

I don't have any idea btw.

Default 2000 SE

I dont know how to describe it, your pressing the gas and the engine revs high and comes back down, like a jerk.

Whats your year and triim? How many miles? Is the accelerater snappy? Or does it chug until it jerks? Does it idle ok? How long has it been doing this? does it jerk under light acceleration or hard? jerk in every gear? We need more info here...

Have you changed plugs and wires? If it idles fine, it may be misfiring under load. Check your air filter, the car may be stalling due to not enough air under load. What happens if you WOT it?

As mentioned, most likely suspect is the wires. Also, the symptoms are similar to what happens if you have a vacuum leak. If it runs fine at WOT, definitely begins to point to a vacuum leak.

What you're describing sounds to me like an engine "flare" where the engine revs high between shifts then slams into the next gear .Like you said something about "skipping a gear".I had a buick lesabre 3800 series one that used to do that sometime, especially on right hand turns. When'* the last time the transmission was serviced and does it only do it in cold weather or cold engine?

Default cold weather

This "jerk" happens in cold weather. Maybe the car has to be warmed a little longer?..Transmisson work was done on it about 2-3 months ago. Thanks everyone for the quick responses. Other than that my bonne is fine.
