Duh.... of course I oil the filter seal before intalling it. That'* standard practice.

The oil filter is nowhere near where the oil accumulates.
Remember that it only leaks once, just after an oil change, and only two table spoons, and only in the front cavity of the front right lower control arm. No visible oil drips or runs anywhere else.
It'* still a mystery.
I have the identical problem. I find CLEAN oil on the bottom of the engine towards the passenger side (right). And sometimes and can smell the burning oil. I have no clue where that could be coming from but I want to find out, though!! drives me nuts!

Well after a long duration of no leaks, there it was again.
The passenger front lower control arm full of oil.
This time it was enough to soak up in a Kleenex and Phew it stunk. Yes, it is supercharger oil.
I immediately checked the level and it was down 1/2 a bottle
That'* 2 ounces.

Funny thing is that I can't see where it'* leaking from. Absolutely dry with no oil on the pulley, belts, snout, engine....nowhere!

I had a leak when we first did a coupler change a year ago, came from a leaky snout seal although I could never see it leak, I always just saw the oil on the underside of the snout.

Still a mystery.
The pulley is dry and so is the entire snout.
If I remove the pulley there is only a trace of oil near the end vent hole. Nothing around the seal area. I have the plastic plug in place and it is dry on the outside and the pulley is dry on the outside also.
Drove it today and there is no sign of oil on the control arm. It may stay dry for weeks and then bingo a teaspoon of oil.
How in tarnation......

If it is supercharger oil, the only place it can come from is the seal between the snout and the rotors or the snout seal itself. Possibly leaking under high rpm or spins off onto some place and then drops down into the pooling area?

Yes, I think you're right Todd. That oil is extremely light. It doesn't leave much residue after it spins off.
I noticed a little bit of spray on the STB and against the firewall, directly in line with the end of the pulley.
It must be intermittent based on heat, pressure and rpm.

It has leaked since the car was brand new, so it must be a defective seal. I don't think I stand a chance of having it covered under warrantee now with the pulley upgrade but at least it will ensure a fresh fill of oil every so often.
