Default mystery cable?

I saw a little sliver of wire poking out the top of the headliner on my mom'* 00 SSEi right near where the sunroof opening was. I pulled the wire out to discover a plug of some kind. The cable is almost long enough to reach down to the center console when pulled completely out. I'm not sure what it'd be for?

Looks like a power cord for a phone or radar detector.

Looks like someone hard wired an accessory plug to the overhead light instead of having to plug into the accessory plug down on the dash. Probably for a radar detector.

yep. it was bought used. I think it had in the 20,000 mile range when we bought it in 2002. Funny thing about her SSEi is it has always been in the U.*. and was first sold in Michigan yet it has the Canadian dashboard on it. It'* kind of annoying because 55 MPH is where 25 MPH would be on a regular dash. It freaks people out though because the speedometer goes up to 220 MPH.

I thought all 2000'* were the same dash, US and Canadian, and that the analog speedo and the HUD changed from metric to Imperial simultaneously?
