I'm looking for a mechanic that'* in the Philadelphia area.I have the current problems with my 2001 Pontiac Bonneville Se. I would prefer a mechanic that owns one or know how to fix one real well
-Heat works intermittently
-shocks all around
-Check engine code 1404 tried erasing but keeps coming back
-Check oil light comes on when It please there might be a leak
-Air bag light is on
-Might have a frion leak dont know
-The gas gauge is broke usually full or really low
-oil pressure gauge is always full so it probably broke
-Also inspect the whole car for any other problems

really hard to guess , sounds like you need a lot of work . oil pressure switch is bad thats why it reads high thats cheap i can get that part for 30 bucks . the fuel sending unit is bad thats like 100 to 300 bucks depending on where i can get it from . the heat issue needs to be checked out that could be your heater core which can get pricey. shocks all the way around aren't so bad i know i can get the rears for about 80 bucks. the check engine light is simple you can look that up on your computer to find out what it is. every thing else is basically stuff that needs to be diagnosed.

1404 EGR closed position performance

Check the EGR tubes fr vacuum leaks. Check the pintle valve, it may be stuck and just need a cleaning.
