Default MAF Sensor specs?

Does anyone know the voltage range of a 2000 L67 MAF sensor?

What about the frequency range?

the frequency range is between 2,000-10,000 HZ

EDIT: My source was the factory service manual.

Frequency range actually goes to 11500 and if your PCM tables went higher than that the sensor is actually able to go up to ~15000 or so. (so scaling down the MAF reading with an AFC and then increasing the values in your MAF table to correct for the AFC would actually allow you to use the MAF at higher frequencies than 11500.)

I'll strongly caution against the AFC'*. They have a bad track record here.

Thanks.
That explains why I have to use a certain setting for my Water injection controller.

If my range went to 15,000 it would be more typical of a normal stock MAF (per the injection manual) and allow me to use a more progressive setting.

Oh well, it works fine like this with no bogging and great Kr control up to 12 psi boost and +4 degrees of timing. :P

I agree they aren't the most reliable thing, just letting him know that it is an option to scale the reading down if he needs to....probably dont' want to scale it TOO much though, not more than like 15% or so.

I am not interested in scaling it or using a AFC.
I tried one once and it didn't work for long.

How do you know if the MAF sensor is working properly?

How do they fail?

Is there a simple test to ensure it is up to spec?

I think you'd have to monitor it using a tech II to see if the frequency changed according to air temperature and engine RPM?

Well, it could switch between enhanced and standard mode randomly and lose the setting or the display could scramble like mine have. I know mine still works, because I increased the signal and my LTFT got closer to where it should be. But I don't know what setting it is at anymore. Trying enhanced mode would be impossible at this point.

I've heard wiring it so it'* in the cabin helps out with life expectancy.
