Default Low Restriction Oil Filter

I changed the oil today and decided to try the 4.3 L oil filter instead of the stock 3.8 L unit.
Someone else in the group suggested it. Fram PH 3980 or equivalent.
It fits just fine and is about 50% larger so I could also use a full 5 liters of oil instead of 4.7 liters.
Bigger is better.

How'* the ground clearance? I'm not familiar with the position on a Series II L67.

It doesn't reduce the ground clearance at all.
It'* about 3" higher than the crossmember, about level with the bottom of the transmission pan.
It is mounted sideways with a slight downward angle. Actually a poor design since you can't pre-fill it more than 1/4 with oil.
