I'm going to be doing brakes all the way around on my 2000 SSEI and want some input on what others are using. I'm hard on my brakes but also do allot of highway driving but none the less they are warped and squeaking. I have never gone the slotted route and don't want rotors that are drilled all the way through because of the horror stories I have heard. Going to run Raybestos ceramic on front and back for pads.

Those look nice, but for the price with shipping, you should be able to get PowerSlot rotors at a local shop. I think they're about $110/per. I went with the Raybestos slotted/drilled on the front and just standard on the back. I got them at Partsamerica.com for about $90 shipped. The extra $40 may have been worth it, but these seem to work fine.

In other words, they are probably fine, but you could go with someone you trust and a known good brand for the same price, so why buy from ebay?

Also, as far as pads- my favorites were EBC Greenstuff. Used Hawks and got nothing. Money'* tight and I recently put on the Performance Friction Carbon Metalic pads from Autozone. They were like $70-80 for front AND back and they work ALMOST as good as the EBC and as well as the hawks if you ask me.

*Edit*- Sorry, didn't see that these were for 2 rotor sets, not per rotor. At that point they're a hell of a price (half the price of PowerSlot). They aren't really drilled, they're dimpled, but I think the slots are more important than the drill holes and the drill holes can cause cracks if not done correctly.

Those dimples are worthless, and it'* an off-brand I've never heard of.

Never buy brake rotors off ebay unless they're a KNOWN name-brand. Never buy drilled. Slotted is great, but not drilled. Dimples are worthless. They are there for purely cosmetic reasons, and take away from the braking surface area.

I got mine from raceshopper. Went with the diamond slotted ones in the front and slotted in the rear (didn't offer diamond slotted rears). I went with those because I've heard that drilled rotors tend to crack.

I figured I'd someday get drilled, slotted, (and whatever else there was) rotors. But now I'm not so sure. I ran across this thread at LS1tech.com (mostly Camaro/Firebird), that makes for interesting reading...

With these mountains around here my brakes get hot fast and dont grab very good so my car needs new brakes.

I know the mountains. I drive them right by you several times a year. Get the Powerslot slotted (not drilled) rotors and Raybestos ceramic pads (quiet-stops). Then make sure your rear brakes are up to snuff. Bad rears will overwork and cook the fronts.
