Default just a simple question

I got new air shocks and i dont know the model number or anything. My father got them done while i was away. but the question is, my shocks are constantly letting out air. when i shut the car off, you hear it sssshhhhhh.... and also when you lock the car you hear it. I never heard this before the new air shocks. can anybody tell me anything about this airshocks before you guys make me get a picture of the model number? this is no waying bothering me and its kind of cool to know my air ride is always adjusting. So i was just looking for some info on them.

IIRC white is typically Gabriel. However... don't take that to the bank.

I would be concerned about the constant hissing you hear. This means that your compressor is likely working overtime to keep them at the right height with that large of a leak.

I'm not sure on the brand, either. However, Bill is right. You should not be hearing any hissing. As it sounds like they were replaced at a shop, I'd take it back and have them fix the problem.

ok well maybe i informed you guys wrongly. Its not hissing, its just the shocks letting out air. Its not happening all the time, just when i shut off the car.

It really shouldn't be doing that. I still believe you have a leak.

the elc system does a purge/fill on key on. If the weight of dismounting from the car changes the ride height (car will rise) , it will purge to lower the car.

You have a leak; either shocks or at the fittings. I agree. Your pump is probably working overtime. Unless you are one HUGE dude you should not hear shocks when you leave the vehicle. BTW the shock you picture does not look new..... rust trace.

Yes, it is definitely possible, especially if you are leaking air, thus dropping the resting height to less than ride height..................but this is NOT normal.

I've had my car loaded up pretty well at times, and have not experienced any hissing. The only time I have is after installing my new after-market shocks and the fitting was too wide and deep for a proper seal. I added some larger O-ring and everything has been fine since. The purge is relatively slow, and quite silent.
