How many of you remove the plastic engine cover?
Does anyone mod it in any way?
I couldn't find anything in the search.........Thanks

I'm doing another as we speak.

If I ran without that on, would it hurt anything. And would it benifit for summer, since if its off wouldn't it keep the plastic intake cooler.TY.

I ran my 96 SE for about a month with it off before I traded it........didn't hurt anything.
It probably would make things a little cooler.......better air flow.
I wish my 02 had a cover like those guys are showing in that article.......but it don't......
just a flimsy peice of plastic..........but I'm looking at it and trying to figure out where to cut.....*grin*

Will- thanks again. i did finish my cover and have been getting complements from all of my friends. some of them want me to make one for them. I'd get pics, but i want my engine to be clean. i hate salt. also, i don't have a digital camera. i'll have to take some pics and go to the library to scan them in. i'll try to do that shortly
