I'm not sure a 3 mile trip with no issues is cause for celebration just yet but it certainly is encouraging. Without revealing my age, let'* just say that I've changed my fair share of batteries over the years and never have I used dielectric grease on a battery connection but then, never have I had a car with this many features and electronics on it.
My hobby car is a 1970 Camaro that I've had since it was new(oops, did I reveal my age?) and if you've ever look under the hood of one of those and see wide open spaces, you know how simple they were, especially compared to the newer cars.

So far so good. One thing I did notice when I changed out the battery a few months ago was that, whereas the voltage readout with the original from the time the car was new was generally 14.7V. After I changed the battery, it went to 14.9V, not a big change but a change nonetheless.
I checked it today after the work on the cables and it was back to 14.6-14.7V.
