It is believed that after 99?? the intakes were not considered 1/2 the problem as 95-99

This does seem like alot of bother and expense on a car that hasn't had the failure yet. Nor is as likely to.

Well it ticked me off. I had hunch it was plastic but didn't want to believe it. So when I found out I got upset. I realize that I will fix it before it fixs (screws) me.

There were no changes in the upper intake... Its the same one its always been...

They went to a smaller diameter stove pipe for the EGR... This pipe does not make contact with the upper intake as the older units did, meaning less heat for the composite material around the EGR port...

Take note, that does not mean its a cure or has been cured.... But it was an improvement... I think we have actually seen a couple of 00 Bonneville require a new intake... So it still remains to be seen...

Agreed on the LIM'*... however we can say that about every 3.8 with Dexcool especially.
