Default Intake Gasgets?

My wife has started to complain about the slight smell of burnt oil inside the car when the heater is on. I assume that maybe the leak is making contact with the exhaust manifold and the fumes are getting into the cowl. I noticed this as well last weekend when I was driving the car. Has anyone here noticed these symptoms, and is the most likely culprit the intake gasget? The car is parked on a white epoxy coated floor and maybe leaks 3 or 4 drops of oil a week. I have been looking underneath for a obvious leak but there isn't one. Usually when I whipe the floor down, I won't get any drips for 3 or 4 days, then a few drops. It'* not consistantly dripping on the floor. Ideas or comments?

Sounds like the valve covers are leaking onto the exhaust manifolds.

What year and model is your car? Please add that information to the signature area of your profile.

2001 SSeI. 120000+ miles. I need to get out the mirror and look between the firewall and the valve cover. Your probably right, I just was curious with all of the posts about intake gasgets, I thought maybe that is where the leak might be coming from.

I usually just wipe a paper towel back there and look for the presence of fresh oil.

Thanks for the reply'* Bill. After a better look last night, it appears that the the valve covers are definitely leaking but it also apears that the lower intake might also be leaking as well. I'll do the valve covers probably tomorrow and while I've got it apart, I can then get a better look-see at the intake.
