A/C compressor
Is it normal for the a/c compressor to be engaged when the ECC calls for heat? Mine engages everytime I set it to "Floor". The compressor won't engage if I press the "Vent" button on the "Floor" setting however.
It doesn't seem right to me...but maybe this is how the ECC functions and I'm simply not familiar with it.

Is there an auto option that may be hidden? You mention the VENT button, maybe it'* the same as the ECON button on my 92? I know if I leave it on auto in the winter, it'll use the ac compressor now and then even though it'* cold outside.

If I run it on Auto the compressor will engage then too. I don't see the point of the compressor engaging when the heat comes on. Beyond me. We'll just run it in Vent mode to save the wear on the compressor when the car is set to "Floor".
Yet another reason of why I'm not a fan of these fancy digital features.

The compressor is on when the defroster is working to remove the moisture from the air befroe it is blown on to the wind shield.
You probably already knew that but I thought I would mention it.
