The bracket will not change the position of the engine. It just opens up a bit more room. The back end of your engine cover hooks on to it. In this picture, you'll see the plastic nut for the engine cover that goes on top of the supercharger sitting on the cowl. The black bracket just to the right of that is the one.

scratch the bracket, i was thinking of the older grand prix.
