Heater Blower Motor
The heater blower motor sounds like a b52 taking off when its running. I can only assume the barings are going on the blower motor.
So where is it and do I access it from the engine side or the glove box?
How do I change it out. I know my GM dealer want big bicks for a new fan motor and install. I hoped I could find the blower motor and install myself.

I'm voting with the person suspecting something from the glovebox found it'* way into there.

If you do need to pull the motor due to it being bad, or simply to clean things out...this is the procedure.
HVAC - MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC
BLOWER MOTOR AND FAN REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the right side sound insulator.
2. Pull back the carpet near the blower motor.
3. Remove the IP compartment. (I've found this generally meant the glove compartment in other procedures)
4. Remove the Dash Integration Module (DIM) from bracket.
5. Remove the two rear DIM bracket screws.
6. Reposition the DIM bracket to allow for removal of the blower motor.
7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor.
8. Remove the blower motor retaining screws .
9. Lower the blower motor and rotate counter clockwise to remove from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the blower motor. Blower motor will need to be rotated to install into the housing.
2. Install the blower motor retaining screws. Tighten Tighten the screw to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in) .
3. Connect the electrical connector to the blower motor.
4. Reposition the DIM bracket to its original position.
5. Install the two rear DIM bracket screws.
6. Install the DIM into the bracket.
7. Install the IP compartment.
8. Reposition the carpet.
9. Install the right side sound insulator.

It'll be worth the effort to really check the fan for debris. I didn't see anything the first time I looked. After reading forums, I took a better look and found several small leaves and pine needles. It sounded awful!

Your guys are good.
Many thanks to you all. I looked harder with the flashlight and found a piece of old filter media rolling around in there. Now its quiet again and I saved the money and time of pulling out the fan motor to find something as small as that. bet the dealership would have changed the motor anyway and charged me mega bucks.
