Default Heated seats...

Does anybody know where I can find a heated seat kit for the wifes '00 SSEi? She fell in love with it in the rental (Hyundie) so I wanted to see how much, how difficult and where I might be able to find an upgrade kit. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

I've had this for 5 years:

No problems whatsoever.

I also noticed they now sell this too:

Excellent...that is exactly what I was looking for!! Thanks Will Wren...is this a doable project for someone with absolutely no upholstery experience?? and can you do it without removing the seats by any stretch of the imagination?? Thanks again for the info!

Your seats are slightly different, but should be similar. I left mine in, and peeled the leather back.

Seat-mounted controls will complicate this a bit. I'll leave that answer to someone with experience on the 2k seats. Harofreak comes to mind.

I wonder if you could make this work with the factory heated seats switches?

Thanks Haro...does this kit include the wiring, switch and everything else I would need to do the job? Also, would the seat switches pose a problem to get the skins off the seats as noted by WillWren?? What kind of job is it easy/difficult scale of one to ten? Thanks for your info and help!!

Here'* how I did it. Factory switches work if you use factory seat heaters.

IIRC the 00+ seats merely unzip to get the cover off. It'* quite unfair to us 92-99 guys.

Am I understanding that the 00+ SSEi skins just unzip to take them off?? That would be great if true...what about the seat controls on the side of the seats? Do they just pop off and unplug or something easy like that. I would really, really like to do this without taking the seats out!!

That is a great write up Bill and the pics are great...anybody got something like this for the 00+ models or am I going to have to do this one when I get my kit! I felt under my front seat and it feels like the skins clip on the front underneath. Keep the info coming cause it is starting to make me think I might be able to do this!! Thanks,

Mac
