With the climate control is there anyway to get heat or fresh air without activating the A/C? In my '95 Vette book says if I turn on upper "vent" mode that the A/C will not kick in. Is there a similar mode on our cars. I often like fresh air coming in vents but would not care for A/C to use up mpg unless it is really hot.

While you're in auto climate mode, press the A/C button twice. This will turn the A/C off.

Yes, there really isn't much of a reason to use the compressor with heat unless you have fog on the inside of the windows that you can't get rid of. That'* after you try using outside air.

That being said, on my car you just press "ECON" but try the advice given above for yours.
