Default Headrest swap

I hate the headrests, why are they even there with that huge hole? Will the 2003+ ones directly swap with the 2001 seats? Thanks.......

that big hole is a pontiac thing, it has been for awile... its just like saab, with their big 3 holed plastic beasts of headrests.....arrg... any way....thats just my ranting.....

snapping a newer headrest into place may work, im pretty sure the seats are identical, except the new headrest

I was a bit concerned when I read this as unlike most head rests the ones on our cars are active in the event of an accident. But further reading of my manuals shows that it should work?
To remove the head rest you need to slide a small thin probe down along side the head rest support shafts to release the holding tabs. As long as the spacing and support shaft diameters are the same you should be good to go.

On a side note I like the see through hole and think it gives my car a distinctive look?
