hey y'all. i need to fix my stabilitrak before the snow gets here(already put my car into a concrete barrier last year because of it). im pretty sure its one or more of my wheel sensors. if i take it to a stealership or similar place with a tech 2 scanner, could they pinpoint the problem? or will i have to just change the hub/sensor assemblies and see it that fixes the problem?

A tech 2 should be able to diagnose the problem and pinpoint it w/o any issue.

Yes, the tech 2 can tell which sensor is open circuit or excessive speed and point to the problem exactly.

I agree...get it scanned to pinpoint the exact problem, as the steering position sensor has been a more common cause than the wheel speed sensors. If one of those were bad, iI'd expect you'd have an ABS and/or traction control light, also.

it does a "LOW TRAC" idiot light briefly, and "Stabiltiy System Active" in the DIC. it does this twice then "Service Stability System" shows up. sometimes it just says "service stability system" if its sitting still and i push the brake pedal. ill try to scan it this week, if i have $$$ left to do that. i need to fix my exhaust problem first. thanks for the imput guys.

The symptoms may vary ... however the Tech2 is the right tool for the diagnosis.
