Default Getting hit all at once!

So it'* been confirmed that my lower intake is leaking It will be getting fixed this week, and the Dex will be gone.

Also on the new list of repairs, the transmission started slipping Friday, the back driver-side floor board is wet, and I have an electrical issue in the lock/unlock button on the driverside front door. It locks but doesn't unlock.

So needless to say WAM! BAM! it all hit at once :(

Sounds like a good time Les...

What diagnostic steps have you taken on the trans/leak and locks? If I can..I'd suggest an electrical section post for the locks.

Intake seems to be under control.

That leaves the water leak right? Have you considered it might be the seal on the door panel leaking? That is fairly common, although more of a frontal leak. Trunk could easily be the leak point in your case.

The seal for the water deflector could also have come loose. This is a recent thread regarding it, but it was for the front door. Same basic test procedure, however. If water leaks between the metal on the door, and the plastic door panel, that would point to the water deflector. It'* fairly common, and even more so if the door panel has been removed to work on things such as the window regulator.

Whats the color of the ATF? Its kinda odd for it to be already slipping. :? Might just be a clogged filter, I betcha with a good flush and filter it will be as good as new.

Are you looking for mechanical advice or just ranting?

Ranting = General Chat

A bit of both vital.

My trans fluid is not burnt up, but it is dirty. Should I flush it like John said to?

My other question is, what the heck could cause my driverside power lock/unlock to only lock, not unlock?

Start a new thread in Electrical for your door lock issue.

Save this thread for the mechanical help with the trans.

Otherwise, the thread will get too confusing to follow.

Sorry to hear of the car troubles. At least she still runs and you dont have any serious mechanical issues (Yet).

Good thing your BF Sean is a mechanic. That should save ya a bunch of money on the intake job.

As far as getting hit with everything at once? Thats because your tax return finally came, and your car wants some attention.

Just a word of advice. Just because that back drivers side floor is wet doesn't mean that seals for the back doors are leaking necessarily. I had this problem and did both back doors and was still getting water in the back. Come to find out the water in my back passenger side floor was coming from the front passenger door seal leaking and running back there. So basically check all your doors.
