I didn't think SE'* had the sweep function.

On the 92-99, only the SSEi and SSE had it. SLE/SE did not.

WTF does this have to do with this topic!

I have been chastised by you about hijacking a thread and you have hijacked one of mine!
Clearly his has the sweep function. Mine does too. These are 2000+ cars!
Who moderates the administrator?

Check your attitude or check the door.

Maybe you should re-read the first post in this topic:
The gauges all sweep except for the speedometer and techometer
Then read this:

The next time you have an issue with an Admin, Moderator, or Gearhead, I suggest you take your dirty laundry through a PM instead of on the public Forum.

Well I'm TOTALLY clueless as to the issue here. I've checked the C1 and C2 connections and I dont really know what else to check. I'm clueless. What exactly controls these functions? Is it the "Body Control Module" (BCM) I keep hearing about? I've heard that tach and speedo come straight from the "Powertrain Control Module" (PCM), NOT the BCM, but that the rest of the functions (cruise, turn signals, etc) come from the BCM.

What controls what, exactly? I got a ticket the other day...78mph in a 60, lol. The cop had no sympathy for my lack of speedometer.

Alright, there really isn't one component that is called the Body Control Module (BCM) on these cars. Body control is comprised of modules such as the Dash Integration Module (DIM), Rear Integration Module (RIM), Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM). The tach & speedo do not sweep on starting sequence. The tach & speedo signals are direct input to the IPC from the PCM. (see the IPC schematics) The fact that your cruise control does not function suggests that these two signals are absent. (zero indication on IPC) The question is, where are these signals being lost? The only thing I can recommend at this time is to interrogate with a Tech II scan tool. (GM Dealership) You can look at the PCM connectors & wiring harnesses located air induction box under air filter. Maybe check connectors at DIM & IPM under dash area. Beyond that, it is pure speculation.

Just wanted to update this thread:

There was a guy on here sometime ago that had the EXACT problem. No tach, speedo, odo, turn signals, cruise, etc so this is the solution to it.

I took the car to the Pontiac dealer and it was a simple relay that was not fully seated, it had came loose somehow or something. Cost me $104.95 to have them push the damn thing in properly, lol. But either way, its fixed!

Thank you for posting the fix. It helps all of us 2K+ owners.
A loose connection on a relay is kind of wierd. Was the relay under the seat or under the hood?
