Default Found this on Ebay..

After reading all the posts about the upper intake failure i becam paranoid about this "inevitable" problem.

I found this intake on ebay and the seller is saying that this intake is:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=36474

Is it true what he says about it:

"GENERAL MOTORS ENGINEERING INSTITUTED DESIGN CHANGES AND ELIMINATED THE PROBLEMS CONNECTED TO THE OLD MANIFOLD UNITS. THEY FIRST BECAME AVAILABLE TO GM DEALERS IN FEBRUARY OF 2004"

I think they did re-design the EGR stove pipe in 1999 and made it a smaller diameter, however I think the manifold hasn't changed t all. I don't believe that the 2000+ Pontiac 3800'* will have the upper manifold failure like the previous generations of the 3800 series 2 N/A engines.
