Default Fans aren't coming on at all until 224 degrees, need more he

My fans don't come on until the scan gauge reads well over 210 degrees......my stock pcm also went up near 220....I have a 180 stat.....anybody monitored theirs by chance? I returned the PCM once to Intense and they said it was programmed correctly. Also the low oil level warning and compass calibrate prompt are back since I put the Intense PCM back in....guess I'll just learn to ignore them. Also the car seems to run much leaner and I had to install my AFC.... I still see like 5 degrees of KR on average. Slightly more then with the stock PCM. I opted for no changes to the timing table when I got the PCM. Any ideas?

I have an Intense pcm (2 years now) and have had no troubles thus far.
The compass has nothing to do with the pcm but the oil pressure does but I dont see the connection between the two other than it could be coincidence?
Running lean would be my concern and if as you say timming was not advanced then I'm not sure where your problem is? Did you give the correct vin # for your car?

One thing you should have noticed is the fans running for 2min after ingnition off?
And your fans dont come on sooner because you changed the tstat, just the stat opens and starts flowing coolant sooner.
I have an E-stat that buffalo'* the pcm into thinking the car is warmer than it actually is and turns the fans on sooner. I'm not sure but it cant be programmed to come on sooner?

I'm also running an Intense PCM, and I've had no issues with it whatsoever. The only thing I can say is that my fans stay on for a couple of minutes after I shut the car off. I run a 180 stat, and had the PCM programmed for that.

When you scan for KR, do you get it just before the tranny shifts gears, then after the shift, does it go back to normal?

If so, that is timing pull, and not KR. There'* no other category to put it in, so it'* under KR. That'* directly from Scott and Todd at Intense.

Another thing I've noticed is that you are running a gutted airbox. That is not good with a smaller pulley. I was running at a peak of 6* KR with a gutted 'box, and after I switched to an Intense fenderwell intake, that dissapeared. I would suggest going with at least a CAI.

As for the Compass Calibrate, your stereo equipment will have an effect on the compass. It'* located on the back of the rear seat, on the driver'* side. It'* the little box with two wires coming out of it. A sub will have an effect on the compass. I've had to recalibrate mine several times, but it only seems to be after I move the sub around a little bit. Remember, it does work off of a magnetic field.

PM user name Rogue. He should be able to help you out with a phone call or so.

I just remembered the thing about the compass and the stereo as well. The fans do run for 2 minutes after shut down. I have the Intense FWI laying in my garage (took it off for dealer)......do you really think putting it back it back on will help my KR?

PDad yes I gave the correct Vin#....also had the Case learn done.

I think the FWI will help out alot with KR. I noticed much more performance after installing mine. Even with a gutted 'box, the plastic still retains heat and restricts linear airflow, especially the bellows from the box to the intake. This is apparent from the SC whine that you hear from the FWI. The airbox is designed to eliminate the whine of the SC, and even guting it won't make but a slight difference. A FWI really opens up the capabilities of the engine.

I dunno...but maybe having the case learn done messed things up on your PCM. I didn't have that done to mine, and haven't had the slightest of problems.

PDad, did you have a case learn done on your PCM?

I have an Intense PCM (close to a year now), had no problems at all. I also didn't have the CASE learn done either.

If a reflash was indeed done when the CASE learn was performed then that erased all of the custom programming, correct.

Prgramming was not removed.....fans still run after engine shutdown and car seems more repsonsive then with the stock PCM. I like the way the car runs with the Intense PCM....I don't want to take it out. Theres' just a few little things I'm curious about.
So can any of you very the fan turn on point for me? I'm watching my scan gauge and assume the fan is coming on when the coolant temp starts to drop....maybe that'* not the correct way? Is there a better way to determine actual fan turn on temperature?

What exactly does the case learn do, and should it be done?
