Default F#$Kin Windows

Well I thought that I would clean the windows after I rotated the tires, and finally get to the last window driver side rear and I put down the window to clean the top of it and the window stutters down. I think F#$kin great!! The window won't go up so out come the tools and I start taken the panels off the door. Get looking around and feel a cable just hanging there. MISTAKE # 1 Called GM to get the car into to have the cable fixed.
MISTAKE #2 Took the car to GM dealership
They tell me that the cable is broken and the replacement part is $520 just for the part. I told them to leave it and I will get one from the wreckers. Then they say heres your keys and the bill is $45 to tell me something that I already told them. F#$kin GM dealerships. Can't find a used one so if anyone knows where to find one let me know. Has anyone replaced one of these themself and how difficult is it to do?

I replaced my own on a 2000 SLE Bonneville, rear left window.
THIS thread tells you how to change the regulator..

THIS Ebay auction is for a Left Rear window regulator +motor rebuilt with better parts..

In all this job is about an hour job and the total cost should be right around $220. Good luck, hope this post was helpful. [/url]

i don't use the back windows so i just push the window up by hand and put a screw
in the track , been that way for 2 years now , back windows stay up and water tight.
