Default Exhaust Plans--Headers to Tips?

What'* everyones plans? For me want some TOG ceramic headers to start, than considering the "test pipe" and haven't decided on the rest.

Anybody know what'* the diamater of pipe from cat back? I'm hoping that it'* 2.5in back. that would be nice but probably not. I know it'* mandrel and flows pretty good, so I'm considering just getting muffler swap and tips maybe.

For mufflers I'm really considering getting CORSA'* new GTP system. Back ground on Corsa, they are a high end exhaust company and specificly tune mufflers for a certain engine. Not just a generic muffler we can use. They use Sound Cancelation Technology which makes the car sound very quiet at cruise or low RPM no louder than stock and ROARS at WOT, no interior resonace either. Not a sales man here, I just had one of there systems on my Aurora, I bought the STS tuned kit and had it modified to fit. There'* about 7 auroras out there with this system and all are 200% HAPPY. It sounded so cool. Miss that the most. Anyways they just recenly relased a GTP kit and also Mote carlo and Impala kit (muffs tuned for L67/L27) and I just want the mufflers and maybe tips. There are 3 of them so you ditch the stock resonator. Did I mention that everthing is 100% straight through. There'* nothing in the mufflers just tuned canisters. I might talk to Jim Browning again and see if he want to use my car as the mock up or just by the mufflers, they don't list that they do that but they will.

BTW Corsa mufflers and tips are on the GXP this year, except there using the Norhtstar mufflers like I had before. They signed a deal with GM and will be on a lot of GM perfomance cars in the future. They were on alot of sema gm cars this year. http://www.corsaperf.com/semashow.htm

Here'* what my baby sounded like http://www.corsaperf.com/flashcadillac.htm
I know a v6 will never sound like that but I know it won't sound like rice either. Only couple guys on clubgp have this exhaust and everyone of them loves it, but it gets bashed there for being the most expensive. They all love how it sounds to, one guy had SLP loudmouth and thinks corsa is way better. Much quieter cruising along, ect. I want it for it'* sound cancelation. Gotta keep it sounded classy. At stop light no one will hear it and when the punk next to you want'* to race, you'll roar away from them not knowing what hit'em. big thanks to the Supercharger.

Anyways. Next question is. Anybody have any pics of ssei'* with different tips on? Don't know if I want to change them, kinda like the trademark of this car. If I do change them I 'm going to squeeze Corsa ultra nice dual 3.5 pro tips. Also had these on the aurora and it doesn't get any nicer.

Here'* a fellow Aurorian ride. My buddy Gregs 98 black beauty His pictures were better than mine

Here'* 2 bad clips of installed Corsa system on GTPs

Far from the Northstar mufflers, I know it'* gotta sound meaner in person, still get'* darn quite between revs.

Here'* what other corsa systems sound like http://www.corsaperf.com/audiomenu.htm

Here'* the Corsa post on club gp, alot of people bash it but I don't care

So lets hear peoples tips opinions. anybody want to photoshop those tips on my car? Thanks in advance to that motivated individual.

Read through the "Header Install" thread. All the info you need should be in that thread.
3" Cat inlet -> 2 1/2 Cat outlet -> 2 1/4 Resonator outlet-> twin 2" exhaust.

Thanks, what are you doing for the rest? mufflers, tips, QTEC? Also plan on keeping the stock piping or getting new 2.5in?

we have a 2000 ssei ,we went with a 3" cat back exhaust into
twin Hooker aero chamber mufflers (3" in 3" out) sounds great
p/n for mufflers 520-21505 not to loud for the wife
will add a dyno max 4"round (12" or 18" long) bullet race muffler
p/n 289-24222 or 289-24219 right after the cat to soften the sound
inside the car

Did you keep the CAT?
3" back to a twin 2 1/2" split should be large enough. What did you use for a Y splitter?

I was simply planning on re-using the stock exhaust from and including the resonator back and transitioning from the 3" to the 2 1/2" into the resonator. Can always change it out later if I don't like the sound/performance.

Taylor, you can get these v6 to sound like a V8 easy! Earlier years are better because of the stock manifolds, and the less HP more Torque engines... But stilll..
