Default Exhaust for the 2000+ Bonnes?

I see alot of information regarding aftermarket exhausts for the 92-99 camp, but as far as the 2000+ Bonnes, I haven't found much. Do any of you have a modified exhaust, and if so what did you use/what do you recommend? Video clips would be GREAT too, if anyone has some. Also, I saw some really cool SLP stainless steel exhaust tips over at 3800 Performance http://www.3800performance.com/Merch...roduct_Count=9

They say that these are for the Grand Prix GTP/GTX and Buick Regal, but man...I think they would look waaaaay sexy on a 2000+ Bonneville provided they fit up against the exhaust cutouts properly. They are a little on the pricey side (roughly $120 plus shipping for a pair...thats more than a flowmaster muffler :? ) and the quantities are limited, but if I was doing a custom exhaust I'd definetly consider them. They look much more elegant for a 2000+ Bonneville as opposed to straight pipes or dual/dual tips. Personally I like the dual/dual tips look, but the SLPs look closer to factory style 2000-2001 tips, just a mite smaller and much nicer thanks to the stainless steel bling . Any thoughts?

Thanks,
JB

Unless your upgrading for looks and sound there is no performance reason to replace your exhaust until about 400hp. As far as I know, there are no cat back kits available for the 00+ (or any year for that matter). Most with upgraded exhausts have a shop do it and provide the mufflers and tips they want installed.

flowmaster, magnaflow, and borla all sound great on the 3800. personally, I prefer the Borlas. I had dual borlas on my 97 Riviera which had the same exhaust setup exactly as the Bonneville just with different tips. That sounded like a V8 engine with those mufflers. I loved them. They're expensive though at $110 a peice.

maybe for the SSEi, but im thinking the SE has a considerably more restrictive exhaust after the resonator...

Good point, I didn't see a trim in JBWALT420'* sig and assumed SSEi. If you have an SE then an exhaust may be more restrictive however you wont be making as much power as an SSEi and so it may not be your limiting factor (stock manifolds may be).

Now that I re-read his original post, it appers as if he doesnt have a 2k+ he was just generalizing about 2K+ exhausts.

Rogue-

To clarify, I currently have a 1990 SSE, but I will be upgrading to a 2000+ model later this year. I was just curious about my options when that time comes Thanks for all your help everyone.

no, any aftermarket exhaust on a bonneville has to be custom made.
