Engine swap
Does anybody know what the difference is between a '98 3.8L and a 00-04 3.8L??? I can't find a website that will tell me the difference. My 98 spun a bearing and I want to put a low milage engine in there. I found a 00-04 Impala 3.8L engine for what I want to spend, but I don't know it is interchangeable. They are both Vin K. I need to know if the motor mounts are in the same place, same kind of sensors, exhaust manifolds will bolt up or not, wiring harness, etc... Please help!

yes, the mounts will be different, but that won't matter because he can just use the mounts that are already in his car. The engines themselves are exactly the same. Mounts and stuff like that are different, but thats all minor stuff you bolt on when you're putting the engine in.
