Engine flat out dies randomly, SES comes on, but restarts

You are correct , intermittant stalling can be many things and hard to diagnose.Right now mine is in the dealership for crankshaft sensor replacement roughly $300.I am still not 100% sure thats what it is but Ill take my chances.Intermittantly shutting down and code p0336.Dealer said that might not be problem and wanted extra $100 to scan it.I told them to just change it.We"ll see.

sounds silly, But I had the same problem and it was the ignition switch. $750 in diagnostics for a $50 part. problem fixed.
