DRL Disable Q's?

I have a 2000 SSEi and the first thing i did when i bought it was disable the DRL'*. If you cant find the post mentioned, here are the instructions:
"On the passenger side fender well there is a relay box that contains the DRL relay. Remove the relay and install a 16 gauge jumper wire from the #30 terminal to the 87a terminal. This is for the highbeams, GM also used this relay to provide a ground for them."
Also, to answer your question, nothing else will be affected. Just do this and the lights will still automatically turn on and off like usual. One thing i did for better wiring practice was buy some single post terminal ends so the wire stays in better. Just shoving the wire in the terminal is not good practice. You should be able to find these terminal posts anywhere. I am an electical engineer so i got mine from work. Ask if you need anymore answers.

I disabled them on Friday, by Sunday afternoon I noticed my Fog lights (now angel eyes) were no longer working. Checked the fuse box and it was blown. Don't know if this was something I did when disabling the DRL'* (they were disabled ok), but this event in conjunction with the headlights not blinking at night when I armed or disarmed the alarm I removed the jumper and DRL'* are re-enabled....
I believe it was just a coinsidence that the fuse for your fog lights blew when you disabled your DRL'*, unless you shorted the foglights somehow. As for your lights not blinking anymore when you set your alarm, that is normal.. The lights that blink when setting your alarm are actually the DRL lights, so when you disable them for driving, you are disabling them from blinking also.. Mine does that, but I dont care since the signal lights still blink.
I rather like the DRL'* blinking for arm/disarm...
As far as the fuse for the fogs, I was wondering if since I have installed the 55watt angel eyes if that did'nt somehow add to the load, or if anything changed load wise since I disabled the DRL'*.

Well, if you like them blinking on arm/disarm, but dont want them on when driving, you are in a dilemma.. LOL I dont know of any way that you can have them blink on arm/disarm and keep them off for driving without changing some wiring in the fuse box and/or the headlight harness.
As far as the 55watt lights. First of all, are you using the factory wiring to your lights or did you use the supplied wiring? You should be fine on that aspect. The factory wire size is 16 gauge I believe. Normally, 16 gauge can handle up to 10amps and with you having 55watt lights on a 12 volt source, your only pulling about 4.6 amps. So I doubt the little bit of added load you put on the system would cause any fuses to blow. Also, disabling the DRL'* would free up some load on the system so that would not cause fuses to blow either..
Now, when you say you blew the fuse, are you talking about the fuse in the car'* fuse box or the fuse that came with the angel eyes???

Im not asking for help or advice. But thanks for your input. I disabled the DRL'* following your direction, and did'nt like the abscence of the lights blinking with arm/disarm of the factory alarm so I re-enabled them. Thanks for the write up on how to disable the DRL'* though, and your other adivce! I do appreicate it and Im sure the other members here appreciate it as well!

Removing the DRL relay, removes the securuity feedback function of the DRL'*. It also removes the perimeter lighting function of the DRL'*. There should be no adverse effects on the twilight sentinel functions. Incorrect placement of the jumper would definitely take out the FOG/DRL fuse. Maybe the techinfo needs an addendum to identify items that will be disabled when accomplishing this modification.
