On Toastys 00, the plastic was on the door and the metal clips were on the panel. And we fought the panels back on...right or wrong..that'* how it went back together.

Yeah, from my understanding, it'* MUCH easier if you remove the metal clips from the door. They are just spring clips that go through the slots on the door panel.

I just wish I could find the darn things. I am tempted to purchase the updated PN and see...

Yeah, you remove them from the door, and slide them into the plastic piece that is on the door. How expensive are they at GMPD?

Edit - I checked at GMPD also, and while I can't get the picture to fully load for the front, I think that you have the right part number. By the picture, you do for the rear.

Yeah, that is legit from GMPartsDirect.com as a clip, but you said it screws on right??? Do you have some left that are not installed? Can you snap a picture of it?

Yes I would if I had a digital camera. I'm sorry.

Damn... But they look like the ones in the picture I posted?

I'm going to be pulling the passenger door off tomorrow and hopefully these things will be in there. I'll then snap a picture of it up close for your to compare with yours.

Only thing I didn't do was as the parts people if it was an available part...

The 2 clips come off with the interior trim panel. That'* why you apply upward force when removing the panel to allow the clips to slide out of the nylon retainers that stay on the door. Once the trim panel is removed, you then remove the clips from the panel with needle nose pliers and slide them back into the nylon retainers in the door in preperation for re-installing the panel. When you re-install the panel, the clips engage & lock to the panel. Does that make sense? Try to put some pics up when you get the chance. also, check the butyl seal intact on the water deflectors when you have the door panels off.

Did you read any of page 1??? I have the door panels off for the sole purpose of replacing the butyl seals.

I know how the clips work... What I need to know is what the part number is for the clips. My driver'* door DOES NOT HAVE THEM! They are simply GONE! I haven't had the time to open up the passenger door yet to see if those ones are there. If they are, I may just end up putting one on each door instead of having two on one of them and none on the other.

Seeing as how there are extra wires in my door (also from my first post in this thread), I believe that before I purchased it, someone had removed the door panel to put these wires in for some kind of aftermarket alarm. In the process of installing said wires, they either lost or tossed these clips.

That makes perfect sense to me because that'* how I do mine. Only difference is on mine, the clips are on the door and the nylon retainers are on the panel.
