Default CV DRIVE AXLES

do they (CARDONE) make a good cv axle.

(The Inside Story...
At CARDONE, we know what our customers are looking for. After all, we’ve been selling 38 product lines over 6 product divisions for over 34 years! And we’ve put every ounce of that experience into our totally new manufactured CARDONE Select CV axles.
Unlike traditional new parts, our Select CV axles are designed with CSE (CARDONE Select Engineered) Technology. That’* a difference only CARDONE can give you. Based on our years of making top-rated remanufactured parts, we’ve seen where—and why—new parts fail. Therefore we’ve built in solutions to help us avoid those traditional design flaws in our new line of axles. For example, we’ve increased thread size so the thread won’t break during install. And we’ve added bellows to boots to reduce bellow stress. We’ve even optimized shaft diameter to eliminate shaft breakage.

Quality and Value that can’t be beat!
The CARDONE name has always been synonymous with the highest level of quality. In fact, we were the first national remanufacturer to obtain TS 16949 and ISO 9001 certifications.
We took that same uncompromising approach to quality when we created our totally new CARDONE Select CV axles. They are designed and built to specifications that far exceed those of any other product you’ve ever worked with. At the end of the day, you simply can’t get better value for your dollar than a CV axle that performs precisely the way it should over the long haul.)

Auto Zone has them for L-$92.99 R-$79.99
Rock Auto has them for L-$46.99 R-$46.99
so far Rock Auto has the best price for the same
part numbers RIGHT SIDE 60-1198 LEFT SIDE 60-1344
i have 118,000 miles on the car and i am doubtful i will get
to many more miles out of them (axles).

Are your CV joints squeaking or clunking? There'* no sense in replacing them if they aren't bad to begin with.

GM cars tend not to have CV issues.. very rarely do you run into a bad CV joint on a GM application. This is due to a better quality rubber boot that is (MUCH less prone to tearange) used by GM over those used by other manufacturers, especially inports.

I just replaced one of my CV shafts this past weekend because one of the dust boot clamps had broken and let dirt and water into the CV itself causing it to fail.

the steering shaft is ok , the wheel hubs are still ok (the right hub has a little play the left has none. you can feel it when you are making a turn under power.
