Theres no problem to place the PCM "naked"

It is weather proof. Fully.

As for the HUD, ive cleaned mine with windex. May be better products exist.

Clean hud with a sprit of Windex on a wet cloth. Be gentle. That puppy is covered with a clear plastic lens.

DO NOT USE WINDEX!!!

It has ammonia and will harm plastic and LCD displays.

Since a couple of year you can have windex without amoniac

I use a weak solution of vinegar and water, which I also use to wash my windows. The car sorta smells like a pickle for a short time afterward, but it works pretty well.

j/k bro

the FSM says to use a clean soft cloth, and not to spray ANYTHING on the HUD unit to prevent damage to the HUD'* internal components

I have seen and messed with the huds in and out of the cars.

Clean it like you would any piece of clear plastic. The LCD is inside upside down and microscopic. You aren't going to hurt it unless you spill the supersized slurpee at the top of the dash.
