Hello all!!
Having a cooling issue with our 2004 Bonneville V6. It overheated last night and I found the radiator fans were not running. I so far have connected my computer and can force the fans on, so the circuits for the fans are working. The coolant temp sensor seems to be working as well. It rises with the engine running and lowers when I force on the fans but the fans will not come on automatically.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

At what temp are you seeing that the fans aren't turning on.

Last I knew, low speed turns on at 212 and high turns on at 226.

I'll have to check when I get back over there. I did find the coolant a little low (just the reservoir, radiator was full), and later found the top radiator hose has a small split in it.

I'll update when I find out more.

Probably be a good idea to do a complete test/top off of the cooling system before we continue diagnostics.

So, I put everything back together and drove it. Never got above 195. It'* been idling in the driveway and fans just cam on around 220.

I must have been thinking of a different vehicle. I think the fans on my truck come on much lower (?)

I could not get my laptop to read the program, but it looks like it is working right.
