do you know what the code is?
also you probably want to put your make and trim...ie 2002 SSEI, SLE or SE so we know if you are supercharged or what not.
just go to profile and go to signature.
btw welcome to BC

I had the spark plugs replaced and the mechanic had unplugged a vacuum line on top of the motor, I found it and plugged it back in and now I would like to turn off the light

I was gonna say, I left my IAT sensor off by accident once and got a cel light, granted not the same, but disconnecting the battery for 10 mins should work. But also most places like Autozone and Pepboys wont charge to look, only to fix[ie parts] so I doubt it would cost much to have the code cleared.

Any of the major chain auto parts stores(AutoZone,PepBoys,Advance Auto, etc.)will clear your code for free in 5 minutes,.........it'* good business for them(even if they don't sell you any parts for a potential problem fix),.........if they do you a nice favor and clear your code and not charge you anything, where is the place that you are Most likely to go when you actually need to buy parts/a part or other product for your car?!?

Any danger of causing any problems with leaving the battery disconnected for more than ten minutes? Such as the radio or keyless entry? :o No major chains where I live, only a Checker.

No danger, Im not sure on the pontiac line, but in the shop, we just used a 9v battery connected to the postive wire of the car to keep a persons pre-sets and radio stations as that is enough for the memory in the car to work.
