Was changing the plugs on my car and of course the plug wires are toast and coming apart.
The question I have is that black plastic cover on the bottom of the valve cover that protects the wires as they run along under it, how does it remove? Just pop it out or up? Or are there retainers I am not seeing?
Late last night I decided to do the front 3 plugs, got one in and then the middle wire broke up trying to get it off. I had to splice it up to get to work today. The plugs are original(got 115,000 on the clock), so I am running out today to get some wires at lunch and put the bad one on and do the rest this weekend.

There are two tabs that stick down and hold the bottom of the valve cover. Othersie it slides down a channel on the cover. Reach your two hands down and unclip the tabs..then slide gently up watching the motor bracket (by #5) and the dipstick tube.

Same thing happened when I changed my plugs. Had to run and get a replacement set of wires as I broke the last plug wire. Wish I would of known about the plug wire removal tool, might have saved me a bunch of time and money.

The best wire removal tool is the real pliers(steel or aluminum frame) that grab the boot down low and have that plastic coating on the jaws. Not cheap for good ones but worth it. Didnt have those!! I have some cheap plastic ones and they didnt work!
