Dear Purplehazaer,

I think you are on the right track here. I will bring to the local mechanic and see what he comes up with. I also tried to change the oil and couldn't get the oil plug loose. Does thia have a reversed thread? Thanks!

This may not be relevant, but a guy I work with had a dodge grand caravan that similar symptoms, but felt through the floor. It was aggravated by turning, especially to the right. He had a mechanic troubleshoot and said all kinds of possibilities. I drove it the next day and noticed it occurred in neutral rolling through a corner, but disappeared as I varied the RPMs. Bottom line: a quick google search turned up a TSB that required replacing the power steering hose from the pump to the rack. $80 and fine now.

I doubt this applies to bonnevilles, but I never would have guessed a power steering hose could make that much racket.

The oil plug is a standard thread.

Check over the front drivers side trans mount. It'* a bit hard to see under the exhaust manifold. If that'* loose it will shudder real bad.

Dear Dan,

Thanks for the info, I had that motor mount replaced and it was alittle better. I think the passenger side front motor mount will be the next one I replace. Thanks for the info on the oil plug I had tire chain change the oil the last time and they torqued it on with an air wrench. Finally, I don't know if you need parts for your car but Rockauto.com is giving a 5% discount isf you use the code 25779232102187. This code is good until 2/7/2010.
