my car has been missing out for a while and i want it fixed bad. it is reading a p0108 code that is for the map sensor saying it is reading high voltage. i have replaced it twice but it is still messing up. when i pulled the codes agian today to check i also had a misfire on cyl #6 i assume this is from the missing out as i cleared it and it has not came back. but the map sensor code comes back in about 5 minutes of driving if that
please help. also i just noticed to night that the oil pres gauge is peged. i know it is the oil sending unit no big deal but i found no part number to order it and is it had to replace....seems easy enpugh but never know!!! thanks

Some things to check:

Look at the wire harness and check for any breaks.
Make sure all the grounds are connected.

The MAP voltage may be high due to a rough idle condition. If you are getting misfires, replace all your plugs (be sure to gap correctly) and possibly wires. If the condition goes away your set.

If not....

Check for a plugged or leaking vacuum supply to the MAP sensor.

You have already replaced the MAP so I doubt thats it...

vacum supply...am i missing something it is a plug in sensor...no vacum lines!

just double checked the car no vac lines. about 4 wire plug goes to the sensor that is it

MAP sensor responds to pressure changes in the intake manifold which gives an indication of engine load. DTC P0108 is set when sensor signal voltage is excessively high.

Inspect for the following:
Restrictions in the MAP sensor vacum source
MAP sensor seal missing or damaged
Vacum hoses disconnected, damaged, or incorrectly routed
Intake Manifold vacum leaks
Vacum leaks at the throttle body
Vacum leak at the EGR valve flange and pipes

please explain the whole vac situation as i do not understand. the map sensoer is on the passend=ger side of the intake below plastic cover if you still have it on. it snaps down inot lce and has a clip with wires only no vac lines. i can not fig it out. as for plugs would this set a map code???? i will give it a shot but it makes no sense to me...anyone else .02 please i have the plugs to do it and have changed the front three before but the other well how the hell you get to them????

The vacum line is soft and is made of tubing. It should be suple to touch and not be cracked or cut anywhere.
There should be a vacum line on the underside of the map sensor, it maybe laying on top of the valve cover along the lower intake.

You can access the rear plugs on the passenger side of the car.
Put your left down along the firewall to the #6 plug and pass the tools and parts back and fourth with your right hand.
For the #2 plug you have to reach around the alternator.

but is a plug going to set this code??
