Car dies randomly. Bad crankshaft position sensor?

Rockstar, can't answer your O2 sensor question. I can, however, say that I had the EXACT same symptoms with the tach dropping to zero randomly (which I ignored until it started the stalls). Crank position sensor change fixed it. No codes were present before the change.
