Brake Rotor Corrosion !!
......a disturbing sidenote to my previous post:I have been hearing/feeling,as of late, pulsating/drubbing noise coming from my wife'* brakes(01 BonnevilleSE,31K miles),.....took the car into Midas shop yesterday,..........both front rotors were corroded on the inside surface[already had to replace the rear rotors last year for the same reason] and had worn the pads down on those sides to almost metal-on-metal contact,......substantial grooving of the inside rotor face,.rotors were too much out of tolerence to machine down/re-surface........had to spring for 2 new front rotors and pads!!!.....$308 Washingtons :? ,.........the guy that installed them said ,"Don' feel too bad about only getting 30K miles out of the brakes............'01,'02,'03 fullsize Chevy/GMC trucks are coming in with only between 10-15K miles, with the same problem....and GM isn't doing a Darn thing about it,...no recall,...no under-warranty fixes!"
Folks,.....be on the lookout on Your Bonnevilles!!!!..............
Regards,
Bill

$239. for the front set and $162. for the rear set.Too bad only the fronts come nickel plated and the rears are standard rustable unspecified metal. :?
How are yours holding up to corrosion and wear?
