I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that he is using a race built version designed to take a heck of a lot of abuse, part of this guess is based on the 11'* in the 1/4 and guessing that it takes a heck of a lot of power to do that, and that I remember seeing somewhere that he has a M-120 supercharger on it

In the quest for a perfect solution I would say there was definitely alot of transaxles broken and the HD is the base needed. I have seen video footage of one break and more pictures and other comments to more breakage. So After you get the HD unit its alot of mods required from that point on. The new kit coming out will be carried by Raybestos but really a kit is only as good as the builders capability. Basically leaves you in the same situation as you are now. Big dollars for performance transaxles.
