ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH 02 SSEI
I'm on my way to work this morning, and I stop in the gas station to get a paper. As I approach my car I notice fluid leaking on the ground, so I pop the hood and transmission fluid is all over the engine, and my pulley belt is hanging off. I manage to make it to towork, driving about 10mph. I had the car towed to the Pontiac dealer this afternoon, and the tow truck driver thinks it might be a main seal leak. I'm hoping thats all it is. I'll find out tomorrow when the dealer calls me. I've had my bonny for 16 months now and had to replace the cooling fan, I've had a problem with noise in the steering wheel, driver side heated seats not working, and now this. I'll post tomorrow when I hear from the dealer what happened.
With no belt your water pump wasnt working, did you overheat the engine? Did the tranny fluid look like it could have spewed out the dip stick? It would take a lot of preassure to blow a gasket that bad?
I don't think the car overheated, I was only driving for about 5 minutes and when I popped the hood it was tranny fluid all over. I do have a tranny cooler on the car, but still don't know where it leaked from. I'll update my post tomorrow when I hear from the dealer. I think lemon laws only relate to the car when you have to get the same problem fixed more than 3 or 4 times.
That sucks, Weird that the belt was hanging off, all one piece or shreaded?
Your right about lemon laws, they do vary state-to-state but has to be numerous visits for the same problem.

I got the call from the dealer today, and was told that the hose on the after market tranny cooler came apart. Where I live its a lot of pot holes in the streets and I did hit one prior to the leak. Since the cooler caused the problem its not being covered under warranty. There was no damage to the transmission itself but I decided to have the cooler taken off. Its gonna cost me to get a new belt new hoses and to have the engine cleaned.
