Default And Another Climate Control issue - cold days

Ok, I am pretty well in agreement that this Climate Control system is weird to say the least.

Anyhow, driving in 40 degree weather, Climate control set on 78. The car warms up the interior, then starts blowing air out the vents! I raise it to 79. Same thing, it shoots hot air out the bottom, then once it catches up, it'* blowing semi-warm to cool air out the vents. The car is relatively comfortable, but I hate air blowing on me on a cool cloudy day.. Then to top it off, it never goes to the lowest fan setting. So when I stop, you hear the fan going. I got frustrated and kicked the MODE to the bottom and Fan all the way down. Does everyone'* work like this? Surely they can set this up better!

You're lucky... I don't even have the mode button. I'm completely at the mercy of the car for climate control.

In the cooler weather it is better to run it in manual and at your prefered settings.

I think the problem is the interior temp sensor being to close to the driver and not getting enough air flow to it. The temp sensor is located on the dash beside the ignition switch.

You got that right.
Worst auto climate control system going.

I use mine in manual most of the time.

Thanks for the replies.. Nice to know it'* not something broke anyhow. I was on a trip when I wrote that. On the way home in 70+ degree weather, it works fine. Just like you all said, stinks in the cold weather..

So many engineering problems on these cars. From HUD'* that shake, to Climate controls that act funny, to Intermediate shafts. Not to mention intake manifold leaks that have going on forever that have never been solved. Oh well.. Such a sharp car though.. Designers get an A+ Engineers get a C-
