Default 3rd brake light

For the life of me, i cant figure out how to take out the thrid brake light. I took the panel off the trunk, and took the bolt and braket off the 3rd brake light. I tapped on the light and tried pulling it, but i cant get it. I am missing something else or am i just dumb.

I was finally going to install the overlay that i've had sitting around for 2 months.

Thanks

I'm not sure how to pull the 3rd brake light, but when I put my overlay on it, I did it while it was still on the car. It came out looking fine, with no light bleeding out the edges...

Press the retaining tabs inward to remove the 3rd brake light form rear compartment lid. Like Ten said, you can install the overlay with the 3rd brake light in place.

the overlay i got was from grafxwerks so its bigger than the light. i guess i could cut it to fit, but i would prefer not to. When removing the light, does it go in the trunk, or do you push it out.

Thanks

Yes, the Center High Mounterd Stop Light (CHMSL) is located at base of rear window on the rear deck prior to 00.

No. The same lamp assembly and bracket were used from 00-05, all models.
