Well I don't get to post here often it seems, but I have a question that maybe you all can help me with.

I am getting 20mpg both city and highway. It doesn't seem to matter if I drive my bonnie hard or soft, I always get 20mpg. This is very strange to me, and I was wondering if anyone would know why this is?

Going to and from work I typically take the highway. (speed: 75mph)

I have been testing this since I got my bonnie a few months ago and it never changes.

She has 135,000ish miles, mostly highway according to previous owner.

How are you coming up with the 20mpg infor?

Gallons/miles ?
DIC?
Estimation of fuel to mileage?

Well im going to point out that there is prolly something wrong if u are getting only 20mpg in a SE if its stock.. Im pulling 20-21 in my SSEi

There are a lot of factors to consider
2.86 gearing or 3.05 gearing
How much city vs highway
Lot'* of lights?
How far are the highway trips?
Which grade of fuel being used
Current state of tune up

Don't forget terrain and rush hour driving.

One hill in a commute can destroy otherwise great mileage.

Best I get is 18-19 but my wife can get 22-23, that'* how different we drive (I like the blown power, what can I say). The SE (2000) we had she would ave 26, as high as 30 on interstate trips-that was even true at the 180000 mark when we dumped it. So something is obviously different. The mileage is out there for you though.

I get about 18-20 on average driving 45-55 where I live. I'm only getting 12-15 right now though because my car idles alot to warm up in the morning. Might be another thing to consider if you're letting it warm up before driving it, wait until spring and see if it improves.

I'm getting about 17 right now. That'* with winter blend and letting the car warm up.

I have no idea about the gearing unfortunately. Let'* see if I can answer most of the questions.

Not sure about how recently it was tuned up, if ever, but I did just have the transmission worked on. I only got her in october. Tires have good pressure, oil changed every 3000 miles.

There are a couple of hills, it'* mostly highway driving. The little bit of city driving I do is 3 stoplights worth. about 2 miles city and 7 highway@70mph.

I have been filling it to full every 300 miles just to have slightly more reliable data, and each time it is taking approx 15 gals. This is reliable for the 3700 miles i've put on the car so far.

I don't let her idle before I drive her. She seems to handle the cold weather with no problems. Might be due to her growing up in Illinois.

fuel grade: 87 "up to" 15% ethanol.

I will be happy to answer anything else you might want too. If you can let me know some things to check I would be happy to. Not sure how to determine how it'* geared for example. I'm not really that mechanically-savvy, but I can learn anything pretty quickly.
